Dr. Jacqueline Church

Dr. Jacqueline Church hails from Arizona. We've partnered with Oregon State Veterinary College for doctor training (preceptorship and externship) and Penn Foster for vet tech training. You may see new faces as we train the next generation of veterinary professionals.

She met her husband in vet school at Washington State University. They’ve traveled about the country practicing veterinary medicine, and chose to settle on the Rogue Valley 5 years ago. Dr Church loves all aspects of veterinary medicine. From dentistry, surgery, to hospice and end of life care. In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, and practicing yoga with her toddler. She looks forward to continuing to build life long relationships with her patients and clients.

Dr. Gail Colbern

Veterinarian

Dr. Colbern works at the Bear Creek Animal Clinic as a relief Veterinarian. She is often with our clients providing top notch medical treatment.

Dr. Colbern received her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1982. She completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at University of Georgia, Athens and a residency and Master’s program in Equine Reproduction at Colorado State University, Ft. Collins. She completed Board Certification in Theriogenology (Animal Reproduction) in 1988 and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Reproductive Immunology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1992.

During her residency and fellowship, Dr. Colbern completed extensive research on management of the transitional mare, equine endometritis, reproductive immunology and equine reproductive surgery techniques.

Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Colbern entered general equine practice in the Bay Area of Northern California. After four years of general practice, Dr. Colbern returned to research pursuits in Reproductive Immunology and, later, Cancer Immunology. She was involved in the development of four major therapeutics currently being used to treat cancer in human patients.

After retirement from research, Dr. Colbern returned to her roots of veterinary medicine and equine reproduction. She established a general veterinary practice in the GreenSprings area outside Ashland, Oregon. The GreenSprings Veterinary Service supplies general veterinary care to all animals in the GreenSprings and Lincoln, Oregon area. Dr. Colbern also provides equine reproduction specialty services to the entire Rogue Valley.

Daisy enjoys spending her free time hiking, finding new places to explore and going to the dog park with her furbaby Luna.

Natalie Love

Veterinary Assistant

Natalie is the person at the party that is hanging out with the host’s dog. Growing up in Santa Cruz, Natalie always had a deep interest in medicine, volunteering at human hospitals, the ASPCA, and Bay Area feral rescue operations. Academically, she pursued creative work, graduating from San Jose State University with a BFA in Spatial Art (Ceramics) in 2017. Natalie spent two years making pottery and working as a full-time shepherd, goat doula and farm hand to the 280 sheep and 100 dairy goats at Navarro Vineyards/Pennyroyal Farm in Boonville, CA. During the many pensive hours under the open sky with the sheep, goats and dogs, she decided it was time to formally pursue the challenge and excitement of animal work in a veterinary clinic setting, and spent two years working as a Veterinary Assistant in Mendocino, focusing on pain management and rehabilitation.

When not at the clinic, Natalie attends Veterinary Technician school, runs Love Ceramic Art, and works with a crew to fire large wood-fueled ceramic kilns. She spends her leisure time hiking, singing, playing piano, and getting into mischief with her teacher/potter husband Thomas, their big orange cat Mufasa and free-roam house bunny Flip Flop.

Anne

Veterinary Assistant

Anne has never met an animal she didn’t like, and freely admits to being a crazy cat lady. She grew up in the Rogue Valley and graduated from Phoenix High School. After getting a BA in Biology from UC Santa Cruz, she spent many years in California, working in veterinary reference laboratories running diagnostic testing for vet clinics. She moved back to the Valley in 2018, and decided to get back to working in a clinic setting where she could have more contact with the animals. She is thoroughly enjoying meeting all of BCAC’s patients and their families.

Sydney Gilbert

Veterinary Assistant

Sydney grew up on Maui with every kind of pet imaginable. She recently moved to the Rogue Valley from Washington, where she got her start working in the vet industry. In her spare time, she loves reading, hiking, pretending she knows how to take care of plants, and attempting to curb her two cats' desire for complete world domination and a never-ending supply of treats.
